What's new, and what's tested.

This page covers Beebo for Windows 0.1.79 the Android test build 1.51-tester12 (build 62) and Beebo Auto 1.16 (build 17), all released on . Android 1.51-tester11 (build 61) came out earlier the same day; tester12 adds the changes listed below it.

We say what changed in plain words. Then we say what a person tried on a real phone or PC, what only our automatic tests checked, and what nobody has tested yet. A test that was not run is unknown, not broken.

What's new · October 5, 2026

What changed, in plain words.

Windows 0.1.79

  • We fixed a few security problems we found in our own review. We keep the details private.
  • "Stream once" (one film shared with guests at a campsite) now needs your computer's yes. A TV link, a viewer link or a library guest cannot start it.
  • The Admin web pages, the Movies and TV pages in a web browser, and the guest pages (phone speakers, Movie Night, the walkie-talkie) are now in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil) and Italian.
  • The Surprise, Upload and trip-share pages are translated too. A trip-share page opens in the viewer's language.
  • Settings search and six sidebar labels are now translated. German now uses the polite "Sie" everywhere.
  • The new translations were made with a machine's help. A native speaker has not read them yet, so some wording may be a little off.
  • Music radio: pressing "Next song" very fast no longer fills the wrong station.
  • Sign-in now only uses Beebo's own address. You should not notice a change.

Windows may still show a SmartScreen warning, because the installer is not code-signed. Full notes: Windows 0.1.79.

Android 1.51-tester12 and Beebo Auto 1.16

  • Watch Together and Car Party: better privacy for guest names, and ending a car party is more reliable. Both are Beta.
  • The app explains when a Watch Together session was interrupted, and keeps your place if your sign-in refreshes.
  • The phone's Back button closes the Watch Together panel first.
  • The Campsite walkie-talkie guest page opens in the guest's language.
  • Beebo Auto: more messages, including the sleep timer, now follow the app language. A Car Party can only be run from the car that started it, and an old Start press is ignored.

These changes were checked by automatic tests only. Nobody has tried tester12 or Beebo Auto 1.16 on a real phone or in a car yet.

Android 1.51-tester11

  • Changing the app language now works at once. You no longer have to close and reopen the app.
  • When the picture stops because the video screen was closed, the player says so and offers "Try again". It no longer wrongly says the phone can't play the file.
  • Picture-in-picture keeps playing when you change the language.
  • Missing episodes no longer show the episode code twice.
  • Casting: the first cast of a film your computer is still preparing now waits up to 2 minutes instead of failing after 30 seconds. The phone says "Preparing on your computer" while it waits.
  • Campsite: the Wi-Fi QR code keeps Wi-Fi names in other alphabets. The guest page no longer mixes up two films with the same name.
  • Clearer help on the Campsite Wi-Fi card for hotspot, "wrong password" and "no internet" problems.

This is a test build you install yourself. It is not on Google Play. Full notes: Android 1.51-tester11.

Where each platform and feature stands.

We use four labels. Available means it is in a current download and you can use it today. Beta means you can try it now, but it is new, some parts may not work, and some parts are not tested on real equipment. The last column has a download or a way to try it, where there is one. In development means it is being built or is switched off, and it is not ready to rely on. Planned means it is not built yet.

What a person tried on a real phone or PC.

These are our own checks on our own phones. They are not a broad beta. Each line says which build was used. None of these checks used the exact published tester11 or tester12 file, the Beebo Auto 1.16 file or the exact 0.1.79 installer. Checks marked tester11 were made before tester12 and have not been repeated on it.

Casting to a real Chromecast TV from a Galaxy S9+ (Android 10, a tester11 release build) and a Galaxy S24 Ultra (Android 16, a tester11 development build), plus a check of the S24 Ultra; both builds made from code a little newer than the published file, on home Wi-Fi21 of 22 checks passed. Casting from the S9+: 8 of 9. The first cast and a second cast started first try in 8.3 and 7.4 seconds, at the same spot the phone was at; pause, resume, seeking, stopping the cast (the phone carried on), casting an episode and switching to the next episode all worked. The one failure: stopping the cast after switching episodes left the phone's player stuck on "The picture stopped", and Try again did not help (leaving and reopening the episode worked); this is being fixed (the fix is being tested), together with two smaller cast problems seen in the same run (the lock screen kept the old episode title, and the notification picture did not load). Casting from the S24 Ultra: 2 of 2, started in 8.3 seconds. S24 Ultra check: 11 of 11, including cold start with the sign-in kept, playing, seeking, pause, a live language change to Spanish and back with no restart, Back closing the Watch Together panel first, missing episodes showing their code once, Downloads, the Campsite lobby, and no crash.A film that the computer has to convert first (so the 2-minute first-cast wait was not used), casting away from home, the TV picture itself (timed from the TV's own player report), more than one Chromecast.
Galaxy S9+ (Android 10), a second check: a release build of the code that went into tester11, installed over the existing app, on home Wi-Fi10 of 11 checks passed, 1 not run. Cold start with the sign-in kept, Home, Browse, Library, playing a film with seeking, pause and resume, a live language change to Spanish and back with no restart, missing episodes showing their code once, readable Watch Together headings, the Campsite host screen and a Crazy Eights lobby, the Downloads screen, and no crash or freeze. Not run: the Campsite Wi-Fi QR screen, because it needs a hotspot.Scanning the Campsite QR with a real phone, away from home, casting, hosting guests.
Galaxy S9+ (Android 10), a release build of the newest code from that night, installed over the existing app, on home Wi-Fi15 of 16 checks passed. Install kept the sign-in; cold start, Home, Browse, Library, playing a film, seeking, pause, resume, Spanish text, back to English, the Campsite host screen, a Crazy Eights round, the Downloads screen, and no crash. The one failure: a language change only showed after a restart. That is fixed in tester11 and was retried on the S9+ with a test build: the screen changed at once, Back worked, and a second change worked.Away from home, casting, picture-in-picture, downloading a title, hosting guests over a hotspot, any Android 13 or newer phone.
Galaxy S9 joined to a second phone's hotspot, with that phone on mobile data (a release build)Passed. Sign-in was kept, the connection card said "Through Beebo Relay", and the film kept playing with no crash.A direct connection from another internet provider; casting; long sessions.
Campsite on two phones: Galaxy S24 Ultra as host (development build), Galaxy S9 as guest in ChromePassed for one film. The guest saw the library, asked for a film, the host started it, and the guest joined it.A second film, two films with the same name, sound quality, more guests.
Galaxy S9+, the published 1.51-tester10 file installed over the existing appPassed. It updated in place and kept the sign-in.A full feature check of that file.
The owner's own hand test on a Galaxy S24 Ultra and a Galaxy S9+ (builds of the night before)9 checks: 6 passed, 1 mostly passed, 1 had problems, 1 not reported. Passed: sign out and back in with your own Continue watching; a second household member sees their own row; seeking, also while casting to a TV; picture-in-picture; sound with the screen off during a video; Library health. Mostly passed: largest text size, with one problem in the bottom bar. Problems: joining a Car Party (the QR said the Wi-Fi password was wrong, and after joining the app stopped loading videos and posters).Music and podcasts with the screen off; the trip estimate.
Watch Together, two different household members: S24 Ultra host, S9+ viewerPassed. The second member joined the owner's room and followed playback.More than two phones, iPhone, long sessions, and coming back after the app was closed (see known problems).
Galaxy S24 Ultra, test build 1.51-tester811 of 13 steps passed, 1 partly, 1 not run.See the older testing record.
Galaxy S9+ (Android 10), a locally signed release build11 of 13 steps passed, 2 partly.See the older testing record.
Watch Together on two phones: S24 Ultra host, S9+ viewerPassed. The viewer showed "In sync" and followed the host. Both phones were in one home.

On Windows, our own PC has updated itself through the update feed in earlier releases. Our 10-step hand-test list for the Windows app has not been run by a person yet.
