Beebo on Android TV and Google TV
The Beebo Android app has a layout for Android TV and Google TV, with navigation built for a TV remote. It is a Beta. You install it yourself for now, and this page shows how to install it and sign in.

Status: Beta, through the Android app (sideloaded). You install it yourself, because Beebo is not yet listed for TVs on Google Play. The TV layout is built into the app, but we have no recorded test on a real Android TV or Google TV device yet, so nothing on this page is confirmed on a TV. If you would rather not install anything on the TV, casting from your phone works with a Chromecast or Google TV.
Requirements
- An Android TV or Google TV device: a TV with either built in, a Chromecast with Google TV, or an Android TV box.
- A running Beebo server on your Windows 10 or 11 PC, with your account already created.
- The Beebo Android app file (an
.apk) from the download section. It is the same app as the phone version. It is built for both 32-bit and 64-bit ARM, because many TV devices, including Chromecast with Google TV, use a 32-bit system.

Get the app file
On a phone or computer, open the Get Beebo section and download the Android app.

Put it on your TV
Beebo does not have a TV-specific installer. Copy the
.apkto the TV, for example on a USB drive, and open it with a file manager app installed on the TV. Android will ask you to allow installs from that app. The exact menus vary by TV. -
Open Beebo
Beebo has a TV launcher icon, so it appears among your TV’s apps.

Sign in
The easy way is Link a TV (Beta): Beebo shows a code on the TV. On your phone, open the newest Beebo app, go to Settings, then Link a TV, enter the code (or scan the TV’s QR code) and approve. Or sign in with the remote: Home (your home’s Beebo name, or the owner’s email), then your own username and password. There is one sign-in for everyone in the household.
What you get on the TV
- Your library, with navigation designed for a TV remote: a menu rail down the left side and the remote’s directional pad for moving around and seeking.
- Voice search. Once you are signed in, press the microphone button on the remote and say a title, and matching films and shows from your Beebo library appear in the TV’s search results.
- A Continue watching row on the TV’s home screen. It is kept on the TV itself.
- Beta Device profiles for Android TV and Fire TV devices, first in Android 1.40. The app tells your server more about what the TV device can play, for better direct play. HDR and surround are asked for only when the TV reports them. It has not been checked on real TVs, and the Fire TV tester build is In development and has not been tested on a real Fire TV yet.
Honest limits
- Not listed for TVs on Google Play yet. That is why you install the file yourself.
- Link a TV is a Beta. Signing in with a code approved on your phone is built, but it has not been tested on a real TV yet. If it does not work, sign in by typing with the remote.
- Some phone features are hidden on a TV: Campsite Mode, Star Chart, Nearby, Scavenger Hunt, Space Saver and offline Downloads. Buying or subscribing is not available on a TV.
- There is no published list of tested TV models. If something does not work on your TV, tell us which TV you have.
- Amazon Fire TV devices are not covered on this page. A Fire TV tester build is In development, with its own Fire TV install guide. It has not been tested on a real Fire device yet.

The current downloads are Windows 0.1.113 (Nov 3, 2026, 1:41 PM Eastern), Android 1.51-tester68 (build 118) (published Nov 2, 2026, 9:22 AM Eastern) and Beebo Auto 1.21 (build 22) (Oct 27, 2026, 2:59 PM Eastern); the notes below describe the earlier releases and have not all been re-checked on the current builds. Not yet tested on real devices.
Android accessibility and layouts · In development
Another accessibility and layout pass is in Android 1.51-tester32 (Oct 21, 2026, 3:43 AM Eastern). Earlier phone tests cover the earlier screens and builds only.
What is left to reach 100%: Try TalkBack, 200% text, high contrast, landscape and large playback controls on real phones after release.
