These controls belong to the media-library implementation. Features that depend on external catalogue information need a configured, permitted metadata source and a network connection when fetching new information. Cached information and your local files are separate.
Point Beebo at movie and TV folders on your computer or accessible storage. Keep the locations you already use; a library scan is different from moving your files.

Beebo checks whether a player can use the original file, whether repackaging is enough, or whether conversion is needed. A compatible original or copied video stream avoids video re-encoding. Full conversion is lossy and may change colour or audio capabilities. Hardware, file and device conditions apply.

Targets are configuration values, not measured speed guarantees. Copied/remuxed streams use source bitrate and keyframe-dependent segment lengths instead.
Play a compatible original file without re-encoding its picture. Original 1080p and 4K files are separate from creating a new 1080p or 4K stream.

Copy compatible picture streams into a delivery format the player can use. Audio can be copied or converted independently; some files need preparation first.

Create short video pieces near the current playback position, restart near a seek and clean up old session pieces. This limits unnecessary conversion work and temporary storage.

The everyday live output ladder has three maximum picture sizes: 1920 × 1080, 1280 × 720 and 854 × 480 (a 2160p size is added only in the case described under 4K output transcoding). It preserves aspect ratio and does not upscale smaller sources.

A compatible device can use a 4K original or copied stream; conversion can also make a smaller stream from a 4K source. These are not 4K output transcoding.

Newer Windows versions add a 2160p live conversion size. It is offered only for a source of at least 1440 lines and only when a graphics-card encoder works, so a smaller film is never enlarged. Not yet checked on a real 4K TV.

Probe the computer’s available encoders and use a working path when possible. A fallback can try another method; unusual files or a fully exhausted encoder path can still fail.

Limit simultaneous conversions so a busy computer can queue work. The owner’s hardware and settings determine capacity; one profile is not a throughput guarantee.

Optional AV1 encoding produced small local sample outputs. An earlier problem where automatic negotiation picked H.264 despite an AV1 plan was fixed in a later Windows version (automatic tests only). Original AV1 playback is a separate capability. Codec comparison and test scope.

Recognize source HDR information and preserve a compatible copied stream where supported. Full conversion currently produces SDR; real display and colour validation remain device-specific.

Choose an available language or soundtrack without changing the library entry. The player must be able to decode or receive that stream.

Negotiate a compatible sound format. Live converted surround output is up to 5.1; higher-channel original passthrough is a separate receiver-and-device-dependent route.

Choose dialogue-focused downmixing, dynamic-range reduction or levelling where supported. Processing audio can require re-encoding.

Adjust supported audio synchronization offset when sound and picture do not line up. In the Windows and web player the slider goes up to 500 ms either way; the Android player offers 100 or 250 ms earlier or later.

Choose embedded or sidecar subtitles, turn them off, and adjust the offered size, style and timing. Text tracks can avoid a full picture conversion.

When a player cannot render a subtitle type, a conversion can burn it into the picture. Burn-in forces video conversion and can remove HDR from that output.

Downloading makes a local copy on the selected device. Complete and check the download before leaving. The source computer may then be off for those downloaded files; it still needs to be reachable for anything you have not downloaded.
Select a supported title and save it to the device for offline playback. Your account’s download permission and available storage apply.

A normal photo backup and an encrypted private vault serve different purposes. Pick the intended destination and protection mode before adding sensitive files. Sharing selected media in Camp Mode is a separate, deliberate action.

Beebo does not supply a licensed channel subscription or an unrestricted international channel catalogue. Live TV and DVR support your own HDHomeRun tuner and your own M3U/IPTV playlist (both Beta; testing with a real tuner and real playlists is still needed). For now the playlist option only appears after a tuner has been found, so a playlist on its own cannot be added yet. Hardware and source fees are separate.

On October 5, 2026, Settings → Appearance in Windows 0.1.79 showed all 11 layouts and 8 colour themes, and choosing a layout previewed it straight away. On September 23, 2026, 61 local checks passed for pack loading, preferences, theme presets and validation. This is local code verification—not a real-device usability or all-platform parity result.

Check the device page for the exact build and route to install it. Phone, television, desktop, browser and car interfaces do not necessarily expose the same controls. Store-specific distributions can omit features present in the website build.
The current desktop version, its installer verification and its operating-system support are recorded on the downloads pages and on the testing progress page, so this catalogue does not repeat a version number that would go out of date.

A browser can connect to the host’s supported web interface. An installable web shortcut and a native application are different products.
Checked Oct 5, 2026 (archive record; newer checks are on the evidence page): Beebo for Windows 0.1.79 plays through this same web player. The original file, the 1080p/720p/480p choices, seeking and playback from the web library all worked. Two things were wrong: both audio tracks looked selected at once, and Dialogue boost said it was not available.

TV interfaces and additional platform projects exist with different levels of local and device evidence. Fire TV, Roku and LG TV have in-development tester builds (October 5, 2026) that have not been tested on a real TV yet. Separate products and opt-in tools have separate rollout, billing and validation states. Building an engine does not mean a service is enabled, a content library is licensed, or a public subscription is available.
Supported website-build story features let you choose a story, supply character names and select available narration voices. Voice availability depends on the installed engines; story features are omitted from some store builds.

Before leaving, finish downloading the videos and files you need to a supported host phone. Nearby guests connect to that phone’s local Wi-Fi or hotspot. Prepared media and local games do not require mobile data while everyone stays on that network; online content, cloud routes and devices outside hotspot range are different cases.
Show a hotspot QR code on supported phones to help guests join the local Wi-Fi, then show the browser joining code or address. Scanning does not replace the phone’s own network-permission prompts.

A guest can use the offered Guest name or choose a nickname for the current group session. No ordinary Beebo account is required for local Camp Mode guest joining.
