Beebo on Roku (in development)
A Beebo channel for Roku devices and Roku TVs is in development, and there is no release date yet. This page says what we are building, what it will need, and what you can use on a TV today.
Status: in development, with no release date. There is no Roku channel to install today, and nothing on this page needs to be downloaded.
What we are building
A Roku channel that plays your Beebo library on a Roku device or Roku TV. Roku channels use Roku’s own platform, so the Android app cannot simply be reused, and the channel has to be written for Roku from the start. Your Beebo server, on your Windows PC, would do the same work it does for every other device.
What you would need
- A Beebo server running on a Windows 10 or 11 PC.
- A Roku device or Roku TV. Which models will work has not been decided.
How it is expected to work
- The channel would show your library and play it from your PC. It is not a separate library and includes no movies or shows.
- Roku players are pickier about video formats than phones are, so Beebo will probably need to convert some files on your PC while they play. How well that works will depend on your PC and your Roku model.
- Typing a password with a Roku remote is slow. A quicker sign-in, such as a code shown on the TV, has not been built yet.
Honest limits
- It does not exist yet. There is no beta and no date.
- It has to pass Roku’s review before it can be shared widely, and that has its own timeline.

What works today on a TV
Beebo’s casting guide covers Chromecast and Google TV, and AirPlay from Safari. It does not list Roku. If you have another TV device, you can cast from the Android app to a Chromecast or Google TV, or run the Android app on Android TV or Google TV. Any web browser also works on a phone, tablet or computer.
