Themes and appearance
The Appearance page lets each person choose how Beebo looks in the browser: dark or light, cool or warm. The choice belongs to your account, follows you to every device you sign in on, and never changes anyone else’s screen.
Beta Status: Themes are Beta in current versions of Beebo for Windows, together with layout packs and screens in English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese and Italian for the main screens (machine-assisted translations that no native speaker has read yet). The Windows app itself now has its own Settings › Appearance page too — see What is themed where below.
Step by step

Open Beebo in a browser and sign in
Use your own login. At home, use the address shown on the PC’s Get Started screen. Anywhere else, use your
yourname.beebo.tvaddress. -
Open Appearance
Click Appearance in the navigation at the top of the page.
What you’ll see: A page headed Appearance that says “Choose how Beebo looks on this account. It applies on every device you sign in to, and other people keep their own.”

Pick a theme
Choose a theme with the round buttons. The page changes colour straight away as a preview, before you save.
What you’ll see: A preview in the theme’s colours, with a strip of sample colours beside each name.

Save
Click Save appearance.
What you’ll see: The page reloads in your theme. If a problem is found, the page lists it and keeps your old theme.

Optional: adjust a few colours
This step is for people who are comfortable with colour codes. Under Custom overrides, type one setting per line, like
--gold: #ff8800;. Your settings are added on top of your theme. Beebo only accepts its own colour, gradient and corner-roundness settings, and it refuses any mix that would make text hard to read. Open Variables you can set on the page to see every setting name.What you’ll see: A message listing any line Beebo did not accept. Nothing is saved if any line is refused.
The four themes

What is themed where, and what is not themed yet
This page’s four themes (Midnight, Graphite, Daylight, Ember) are for the browser site: this Appearance page and the rest of Beebo when you open it in a web browser, on any device.
Beta The Beebo Windows app now has its own colour picker too, in Settings › Appearance inside the app. It is a separate picker from this page, with its own theme choices — Dark, Light, High contrast, OLED black, Cinema Library (dark and light) and Aurora Spotlight — not the same names as here, though Dark and Light use the same colours as Graphite and Daylight. New profiles start on Cinema Library. It changes the colours you see in the app itself (library, sidebar, cards and so on), alongside layout choices such as density and card style; it does not yet change the small number of places noted below.
- The video player page has its own look, and a few standalone pages (Suggest a Feature, and some admin and print pages) keep theirs in every theme.
- Some status boxes use fixed colours that do not change with a theme.
- The Android app has its own colours and no theme picker yet.
If something goes wrong
I saved colours I cannot read
At the bottom of the Appearance page, the Reset to default box always uses fixed colours, so it stays readable whatever you saved. Its button puts you back on Midnight and removes every custom override. If the page itself is hard to read, open /appearance?safe=1 on your Beebo address, which shows the page in the default colours.
The Appearance link is missing
Themes are in current versions of Beebo for Windows. Ask whoever runs your Beebo PC whether it has been updated, or check What’s new. Looking for the Windows app’s own theme picker instead of this page? That’s Settings › Appearance inside the app.
Does my choice change my family’s screens?
No. It is stored per person, so one member’s taste never changes another’s.
