Trip Journal: a recap of your trip, as a slideshow or video
Tap “We’re heading out” when you leave and “We’re home” when you return. Beebo collects that stretch’s games, stories, badges and packing list into one recap you can present as a slideshow or save as an MP4 video. It all stays on your phone.
Beta · next release · Android only Status: The Trip Journal is not in the current Android app (1.38). It is new, and it has not been tested on many different phones. Saving as a video is not offered on a TV.
Step by step

Start a trip
On the Campsite Mode screen, find the Trip journal card and tap We’re heading out. Give the trip a name (it starts as “Our trip”) and, if you like, list who is coming, separated by commas. Tap Start trip.
What you’ll see: The card changes to “On a trip: …” and says that games, stories and scavenger hunt finds from now are kept for the recap.

Enjoy the trip
Play, tell campfire stories and pack as usual. You can add more names from the card. Names are whatever people typed on their phones; nothing checks who they are.
Optionally, turn on the location option. Off, a scavenger hunt keeps only what was found and who found it. On, each found waypoint’s coordinates are kept on this phone too, and turning it off erases them.

End the trip
When you are back, tap We’re home.
What you’ll see: The trip is saved as a recap on this phone.

Open the recap and pick photos
Open Other › Trip Recap, choose the trip, and tap Choose photos and videos to add the ones you want in the show. Photos and videos dated outside the trip are left out unless you switch on Include ones dated outside the trip.
What you’ll see: A count such as “12 photos or videos in the show”.

Present it
Tap Present to run the recap as a slideshow. Swipe to move between slides.
What you’ll see: Full-screen slides with a counter like “3 / 14”.

Save it as a video
Tap Save as a video. Choose 1080p or 720p, and whether to add the campfire crackle (off by default, so the video is silent). If it lists guests, they appear as “guest” unless you tick their names. Beebo makes the video in the background, which takes about as long as the video itself, so keep the phone charging; it may get warm. You can leave the screen.
When it finishes, tap Share your trip video.
What you’ll see: “Making the video… 40%”, then the length and size of the finished file.

Privacy
- The video is made on your phone. Nothing is uploaded. Photos are redrawn from their pixels and the finished file is scrubbed of any GPS location, so the video carries no location.
- A video can be sent to anyone, so guests appear as “guest” unless you choose to show their names.
- The crackle is made on your phone. Music from your library is never used, and the sound in your own clips is left out.
- Deleting a trip removes its recap from your phone. Your photos, videos and game history are not touched.
If something goes wrong
Making the video fails or gets stuck
Choose 720p, which is smaller and works on more phones, keep the phone charging and free of low-storage warnings, and try again. The Trip Journal is a beta and has not been tested on many phones. Tell us your phone model at testers@beeboentertainment.com.
Some photos or clips are missing
The saved video skips items that are unreadable, too short, or a video that is too long. The finished screen says how many were left out. Photos dated outside the trip are also excluded unless you include them.
A photo “can’t be opened any more”
Choose it again from the trip screen. The phone can no longer open that file.
I do not see Trip Journal at all
It is not in the current Android app. Check What’s new for the release that includes it.
